Object Description

Per David P. Becker (April 2010):
Illustrated book with 20 tinted lithographs (London: Richard Bentley, 1851) [2 ff.] 428 pp., plus plates; original publisher’s blind- and gilt-stamped blue cloth. Abbey, Travel in Aquatint and Lithography 1770-1860 (London: 1956), cat. 45. First edition. Each lithograph is printed in two colors, black for the image, plus a tan tint stone; they were printed by Hullmandel and Walton. BCMA has a single impression of plate 17, Sulí (2009.16.513).
