Georges Dupré
19th-20th century French sculptor
(1869 - 1909)
Born at St. Etienne, Dupré studied first at the Ecole des Arts industriels there, then went to Paris in 1883, where he became a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1892 under L. O. Roty and J. G. Thomas. He won the Rome Prize in 1896 and was in Rome for three years. During his short life Dupré executed a number of cast and struck medals.
