(active in the United States) Note: One of the most important American graphic artists of the 19th century, he became well-known for his aquatints of Joshua Shaw's "Picturesque Views of American Scenery" and William Guy Wall's "Hudson River Portfolio", which were among the first romantic landscape views to be printed in America.
