Richard Francisco
Richard Francisco
American 20th-21st century American painter and sculptor
(St. Helena, CA, 4/16/1942 – )
From Vogel 50 x 50 exhibition: "Francisco is known for watercolors and balsa wood constructions, which the artist considers to be paintings or drawings, not sculptures. In a description of his work for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Francisco wrote: “I would rather build a drawing than draw a drawing.” His work is generally colorful, abstract, and small in scale."
