Andrea, I am more than happy to go with “American, born in Romania,” if that is your preference? The one thing I know for sure is that it’s not my decision to make! Yours, Sean — Sean P. In Andrea’s case, she would never be considered Romanian, despite being born and having lived her first 21 years there. She’s ethnic-Hungarian, born in Romania to Hungarian and Romanian parents, but was denied admission to the art college because of her Hungarian identity. And she loves Romania (now), though not necessarily Hungary (also now). American it is. And it was a highlight of our weekend as well. Thanks for sharing your works with us, and it was fun to browse ceramics too! Looking forward to seeing you soon, S — Sean P. I was so delighted to see you and to meet Olivia! What a wonderful surprise! It made my whole weekend. For the labels I’d prefer simply “American” or “American, born in Romania”. Thank you. Looking very much forward to seeing you all very soon. Looking forward to seeing you next week at the museum. A quick question as we prepare the labels. For the tombstone, do you prefer Romanian, Romanian – American, or American? Many thanks!
