View of The Shot Tower (Youle's Shot Tower, built 1823) at 53rd St. and East River. A note in artist's hand on one print states "Old Shot Tower, now demolished./ For over a hundred years it stood at 53rd St. and the East River." Demolished 1920. In background, other city buildings; the shot tower was in rural surroundings when built.
Total of 8 prints, all of the same plate size: 6 unnumbered copies, variously inscribed; 2 early states or proofs. All but one proof are signed and dated in pencil. See images attached to EmbArk record.
