Object Description

The artist's image was created with layers of stenciled black and yellow pulp paint. First, a base sheet of yellow pigmented cotton was pulled and couched. After the base sheet was allowed to drain, three separate stencils were used. Each stencil was singly laid onto the base sheet and its proper pulp paint color was gently spooned into its opening. The first two stencils required black pulp paint, while highly pigmented yellow linen pulp paint was used for the third stencil. Once all three stencils were used, the paper was then pressed in a hydraulic press and dried in a forced air drying system for 2 days.
