Object Description

415 THE ADORATION OF THE SHEPHERDS
In an open area with architectural elements around it, the manger with the Christ Child. On the left kneels Mary; behind the crib, a praying angel. On the right, two bareheaded shepherds, one holds a staff and his hat. Behind the shepherds, Joseph; nearby, an ox and a donkey. From the right a shepherd enters doffing his cap.

Bronze, gilt, chased, 94 x 90 mm. Hole at top.

Provincial work, the attribution of which remains problematic.
