Object Description

Per donor Jean Gibran 6/9/2020 (see gift offer letter dated 6/9/2020):
Leather Case designed by Kahlil G. Gibran, (late) husband of donor, Jean Gibran. The embossed image on the cover was done by Kahlil's cousin the poet Gibran Kahlil Gibran.

This medallic replica is of the bronze plaque, located in Boston's Copley Square.

Kahlil sculpted the medal in the 1970's. It became an award to recipients of the original Gibran Kahlil Educational Scholarship Fund that was transferred in 2015 to Tufts University. Very few copies now exist.
