Dear Laura,

Would you please identify three prints that the Museum received in 1956 as "photographic reproduction (photogravure)", rather than “etching”, and identify them as issued by the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Thank you!

David Becker, in a note on the matboard board, rightly identified these as photomechanical reproductions of works in the collection of the Bibliotheque Nationale, but this bit of information didn’t make it into EmbArk yet.

The other Fragonard etchings in our collection are believed to be authentic (1956.24.52.1; 1982.19).

Thank you!

Joachim
