85 MARIA MAGDALENA OF AUSTRIA (1591- 1631), Grand Duchess of Tuscany, married Cosimo II de' Medici, 1608

Obv. Bust to left, in cape and hood. Around, MARIA . MAGD . ARCHID . AVSTR . MAGN . DVX . ETR

Lead, 40 mm. Hole at top

Executed after 1621, when the Grand Duchess was widowed. Several specimens of this medal exist with the inscription reading MAG instead of MAGN (Forrer 4, p. 114; Fabriczy, pi. 36, 7; with reverse of flying pea-hen; Heraeus, no. 62, 26; and Supino, no. 604, with signature).
