394 Series: EVENTS FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT
A. CAIN KILLING ABEL (Gen. 4:4-8)
In the foreground Cain has thrown Abel to the ground, grasps his garment and is about to strike him with the jaw-bone of an ass. In the background the two brothers kneel before their respective altars, Abel's burning at left, Cain's smoking at right. Landscape with rocks and trees behind; cartouche work at the borders.

Bronze, trapezoidal, 52 x no mm. Aftercast.
