389 Series: TWENTY-FOUR SCENES FROM OVID'S METAMORPHOSES
O. VENUS AND ADONIS (Met. 10, 555-59)
Venus and Adonis sit in an embrace under a tree, somewhat to the left. Venus is nude, only her lap is covered. Adonis is attired as a hunter, with a small hunting horn at his belt. To the left, a dog; to the right, two others.

Bronze, gilt, 73 x 128 mm.
