Object Description

368 ANNUNCIATION
The Virgin at lower right kneels facing left and leans her crossed arms on a prie-dieu. She looks up at an angel who flies toward her on clouds, holding lilies in its right hand and gesturing to her with its left. Above the angel a dove descends on long rays. At upper right, a curtain drawn back. Incised on frame, ARCI CONFRATERNITA DELLA S.S[superscript A] ANNUNCIATA

Bronze, silvered, applique. Irregular oval frame, 120 x 97 mm. Holes on edge of frame in eight groups of three each.
