Valentin Maurice Borrel

French 19th century French artist and medalist
(Montataire, France, 1804 - 1882, Chevilly, France)

A student of J. J. Barre, Borrel began engraving medals in 1828. In 1831 he was appointed to the Monaco mint under Honore V and he soon began engraving official medals of Louis Philippe and the House of Orleans.
