Anna Fabricius

Hungarian cinematographer, photographer and video artist
(Budapest, Hungary, 1980 – )

Media artist Anna Fabricius (Hungarian, born 1980) lives and works in Budapest. She received her doctoral degree at Moholy-Nagy University in 2015. The core of her art is based on photography, video, texts and mixed media, exploring the concept of a “group” or a “community”, their construction, how they form and the role of an individual within it. Fabricius’s works have been showcased in a great number of domestic and international exhibitions and institutions, including Ludwig Museum Budapest, the Hungarian National Gallery, PhotoEspaña, Paris Photo, Lodz Photofestival and the Rijeka Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, in collaboration with various renowned curators such as Jovana Stokič, Roman Babjak and Walter Seidl. She is one of the most-travelled artists of the Hungarian media-art scene, partaking in residency programs like Vienna MQ21, RU Residency New York, Lodz Residency Program, Taipei Resident Artist Project or Ostrale21 Dresden. Fabricius also runs courses at the Moholy-Nagy University Budapest.
