John Usher Parsons

(Parsonsfield, Maine, 11/1/1806 - 5/21/1874, Wellesley, Massachusetts)

John Usher Parsons was born on November 1, 1806 in Parsonsfield, Maine. He Graduated from The Maine Medical School then in Adams Hall at Bowdoin College in 1828. In 1846, he received an honorary degree from Bowdoin College. In 1831 Parson's furthered his education at Andover Theological Seminary. He went on to be a missionary in Indiana from 1831-1834, in Wisconsin from 1839 to 1843, and in Georgia from 1845 to 1853. Parsons served as pastor at Berkeley, Massachusetts between 1836 to 1838, in Hyannis Massachusetts from 1853 to 1856 and in Bristol, Maine from 1859 to 1862. He died in Wellesley, Massachusetts on May 21, 1874.
