Bronze, struck, 68 mm. Dies cracked, on obv. at truncation line, on rev. diagonally through center

Coronation medal. Charles was the brother of Louis XVI and Louis XVIII. He abdicated during the July Revolution of 1830. Jean Casimir de Mercassus, Baron de Puymaurin, was master of the Paris mint from 1816-30.
