The Church of Saint Hedwig in Berlin was built from 1747 to 1773 on ground donated by Frederick the Great, to whom the church is dedicated. Cardinal Angelo Maria Quirini generously contributed to German missions, corresponded with Frederick, and in 1747 was elected to the Berlin Academy.
